Second
Skin
The first skin separates the body from the world.
The second skin is formed through contact with it.
Every encounter, experience, and change leave an invisible trace on a person. Gradually, these traces form a new outer layer—fragile and multilayered. In this series, it takes the form of fabric that touches the body, follows its movements, and becomes an extension of an inner state.
The series draws visual inspiration from the aesthetic of decaying romanticism, combining elements of Victorian dress, deconstructed clothing, and surrealism. I am drawn to corsets, layered fabrics, ruffles, and unfinished forms in which clothing ceases to be merely decorative and becomes an extension of the body.
