Untamed
Most of my paintings are about finding a quiet place free from expectations. In the Untamed series, that place becomes the inner world of its figures—a space where they do not have to conform to other people’s ideas of who they should be.
At the heart of the series is a collision of the everyday and the fantastical. Beds, chairs, and kitchens become places where wings, animals, deserts, and flight emerge. Liberation does not necessarily happen physically: familiar surroundings are transformed by the figure’s inner world, gradually giving way to dreams and imagination.
To me, Untamed is the part of a person that can never be fully subdued. It does not always reveal itself through resistance. Sometimes it exists in silence, sleep, or fantasy—in a place where one does not need to justify their feelings or prove their right to be themselves.
